John and Josephine have a unique take on Japan in that Josephine’s family heritage dates back to 1861 when her great great grandparents arrived in Japan as some of the first westerners allowed in after Japan’s several hundred years of isolation.  This was a difficult and dangerous time, but since then each subsequent generation of her family has been born, raised and lived their lives in Japan.

Since the late 1980’s John and Josephine have travelled throughout Japan visiting family and the family home which is still there to this day.  Then after a 37 year real estate career, John launched Uncharted Japan, LLC with the purpose of sharing their unique experiences with the world through high quality, informative and entertaining videos on their Youtube Channel.
