We’re in Osaka!

One of the oldest kushikatsu restaurants in OsakaJust uploaded our latest video which this week is from Osaka, known as “The Kitchen of Japan”.   The food scene here is off the charts.  Of course there’s great food all over Japan, but Osaka takes it to another level and then some.  The most well known area is the Dotonbori Canal District.

Created about 100 years ago around a number of kabuki theaters, it has given way to neon, food stalls and tourists.  Its amazing in the daytime, but its at night when it really shines.  This place is amazing with thousands of people from all over the world sampling food from hundreds of street food vendors to finer restaurants.  Its a very energetic place, yet a surprisingly well mannered crowd.  No rowdiness, no open alcohol and most people are rather polite even when trying to grab a selfie.  But Dotonbori is just one place to see in this amazing city.

The Maishima Incinerator plant Osaka is like something out of a Willy Wonka movieWatch our video as we take you on a tour of the most unusual and unexpected places, the Maishima Incinerator Plant.  Yes, we toured a trash dump!  But don’t let that fool you.  It looks like something out of a Willy Wonka movie.  It was an amazing place to see and see behind the scenes of what makes Japan tick.

Then there’s the Sumiyoshi Temple, the Osaka JR station with its eight floors of shops and dining, and the Osaka Castle among others.  Osaka is one of the three largest cities in Japan and generally second or third on the list of the most visited cities and you’ll understand why once you’ve watched the video.  So enjoy, and please be sure to leave a comment and subscribe to your Youtube Channel by clicking here.
